Taiwanese shipyard Ocean Alexander presented the first 35-meter model in its new Puro series during the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The first three vessels in the series, also known as the 35P, are already under construction, with one set to debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2023.

The three-deck motor yacht will be built in GRP and designed by Italian designer Giorgio Cassetta in collaboration with Andrea Agrusta of Italian engineering firm NavalHEAD. This is the first time Giorgio Cassetta and Ocean Alexander have collaborated on a project.

Speaking about his work with the Puro line, Cassetta said Ocean Alexander has a "legacy" of creating "high, reliable, ocean-going vessels" that can sail in rough weather. "I want to do that with any new design," he explained at a press conference during the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. "I want to make a beautiful boat that speaks [Ocean Alexander's] language and caters to what they do best."

With this in mind, Caserta says the 35P will focus on stability and seaworthiness, with a "tall and powerful" appearance. This is achieved through an uninterrupted 11-meter upper deck from bow to stern, which completely obscures the main deck cockpit and creates the illusion of a longer, "sleeker" boat.

Meanwhile, the interior of the upper deck is a separate space containing the pilothouse and lounge area, which can be blacked out with glass to create privacy if desired. This space also benefits from a walk-around deck, ensuring maximum proximity for owners and guests.

Elsewhere, 35P will have about 56 square meters of sun deck space and 18.5 square meters of dedicated beach club space, which can also be converted into a garage.

Other key figures include a 7.4-meter beam, 273 GT gross tonnage and 2.1-meter draft. The line is expected to be equipped with twin MAN 2000 HP engines as standard, with a top speed of 24 knots, rising to 27 knots if buyers opt for the 2600 engines.

There are five staterooms on board, including four lower deck staterooms and an owner's stateroom on the main deck. Crew quarters are located forward on the lower deck - two double staterooms and the captain's cabin.
